Portrait Unveiled

The RSCBE has announced that the portrait of Professor Thrupiece commissioned to mark the 10th Anniversary of his passing has been completed by distinguished Royal Academy artist Harris Tweedy.

A spokeswoman for the Society described it as "an excellent portrait but not a good likeness" adding that though several portraits of the professor exist (mainly) in private hands, none of those available to the public "captures the essence of a man who was at once contented and conflicted; at ease with the world but not with himself and known only to a few intimates most of whom are now dead."

The portrait will hang in the foyer of the RSCBE state-of-the-art Headquarters and Research Facility in Great Heaving, Dorset.
