Mrs Threadbone Celebrates A Personal Milestone

Friends, associates and employees of the Threadbone Corporation were greeted with a delightful surprise today as the normally very private (except when very public) Mrs Amanda J Threadbone shared news of a personal milestone: the occasion of her 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Joy was not wholly unconfined, however, since Mr Threadbone died some years ago in a motorised mini-tractor incident and was thus rendered in absentia for today's understandably muted celebrations. The couple were married in All Saints Parish Church, Gussage All Saints on 20th March 1967. The late Professor Thrupiece was Best Man and Matron of Honour was family cousin Mrs Edna Whisky-McNightly. They honeymooned in Lyme Regis at the Manor Inn (now part of the Crown Magna Hotel and Spa chain).

Speaking from her office ("It may be a significant day but the work goes on") Mrs Threadbone emphasised the low key nature of the celebrations she has herself overseen and planned. After a small motorcade through Great Heaving, Mrs Threadbone will greet 250 dinner guests who will enjoy a 12 course meal followed by dancing to the Latin American Rhythms of the All New Fernando Mediantepieza Latin American Rhythm Orchestra recently reformed as a tribute to original bandleader Fernando Mediantepieza a distant relative of Mrs Threadbone's by way of Mrs Whisky-McNightly.

Asked if her Rumba was still up to scratch, a surprisingly vigorous Mrs Threadbone replied firmly that it was and that she could "go all night in the right man's hands". Mrs Threadbone is over 60.
