Despite reports of brisk sales at Threadbones ["We sold two on opening day and have a copy on reserve for a customer who might come in today if her gyro comes through", says Threadstones Head of Purchasing Headley Purchase] the Threadbone Press has launched an all-out, no-holds-barred campaign to promote "Accident and Emergency", the latest thriller from the pen of Hospital Drama Queen Emma Roid.
The multi-pound Campaign designed by Charles and Maurice MacPro - Creative Co-Heads of the Threadbone Design Studios - will see posters, hoardings and TV ads springing up county-wide as the publishers seek to bring the world of Herston General Hospital to several more potential readers.
"The mixture of genres - romance and crime that is - is not the easiest for some readers: they tend to like one or the other but not both", explains Threadbone Design Studio's Head of Promotions, Cash N'Carrie. "It looks alright on paper and works in theory but in the real world there are definitely issues. So it's a matter of convincing romance lovers that there is very little crime and crime lovers that there is very little romance. In the profession we call it "underplaying" [aka "misleading" aka "deception"]. So are claims that Emma Roid has "hit on a winning formula" far-fetched? "Not at all", responds Mr N'Carrie, "depending on how you define 'winning'" . "If, for example, you defined winning as selling less than you hoped then I would say we are winning all the way to the remainders bin. Put it this way: time will tell, but if I were a betting man I would wait for the discounts. Give it a month and they'll all be half price or less".
Accident and Emergency is currently available from the orinoco store and carries a 60% discount [for members and non members only] whilst anyone wishing to purchase all three Adam Carrington volumes can claim a massive 90% discount together with a free Doug Graves of choice.

The Threadbone Press is pulling out all the stops in the hope of generating huge sales. Their Multi-media Platform Platinum Hi-Viz Campaign is the brainchild of Charles and Maurice MacPro - Creative Co-Heads of the Threadbone Design Studios. The brothers are more famous for their fonts than their market insight.
